The Heart of our Impact

OUR VOLUNTEERS ARE THE PEOPLE WHO MAKE IT POSSIBLE

The driving force and the backbone of our organization. Beyond the time they generously give, they are part of a community built on shared values, respect, and purpose. In 2015, we started with two volunteers, and now we frequently work with more than 150 people that we affectionately call our Rockstars.

"At Soap for Hope, even if you have a limitation, you still feel like part of the team. Everyone, with all different abilities, all work together there. When I am there I feel supported, make friends, get closer with people, and don’t feel like I am alone. I don’t feel stressed about the work there. The work I do at Soap for Hope makes me feel capable."

"When I think about Soap for Hope Canada, one word comes to mind -DIGNITY- coming from the "undignified" world of the streets the crew at Soap for Hope Canada have been more than kind. They assign value and respect to me each and every time I walk in the door. They have forever changed my life ."

"I am honoured to be part of an organization that is the epitome of sustainability.  One that provides personal care products to many without access to these basic hygiene items.  And in so doing, helps to have a positive impact on a person's dignity, physical, and mental health, as well as having a positive environmental impact."

"The 4 of us (some are referred to as "here comes trouble!"), have been volunteers at Soap for Hope Canada and other organizations for years, gaining much satisfaction. Not only do we give but we receive a bonus - our friendship outside of Soap for Hope Canada - how joyful is that? If not for our weekly shift, we would never have met."

Schools: St Michael University School

“For the past two years, SMUS has proudly partnered with Soap for Hope Canada. Students have gained valuable insights into the interdisciplinary nature of community challenges, exploring the social-emotional, economic, and environmental dimensions of Soap for Hope’s mission. This collaboration offers students a unique opportunity to cultivate a long-term relationship with an organization that aligns with their passions and values.”

Corporate: Destination Greater Victoria

“It was a great afternoon to volunteer! We process various hygiene products that arrive from hotels across B.C. and Alberta. Upstairs, there’s a beautiful thrift store filled with hidden treasures found in hotel rooms. Soap for Hope Canada is an incredible organization! If you have some time, come in and get your hands clean—not dirty!”
