one million pounds from the landfill

Join the growing number of hotels that are making a positive impact on the environment, their staff, their customers, and their communities.

Our Caring Hotel Partners Program provides a simple, high-impact solution that transforms surplus hotel items into hygiene products and essential supplies for vulnerable communities.

Since 2015, the program has grown from 2,000 hotel rooms in Victoria to nearly 9,000 rooms across British Columbia and Alberta, creating measurable environmental and community impact.

A SIMPLE SUSTAINABILITY SOLUTION FOR HOTELS
A SIMPLE SUSTAINABILITY SOLUTION FOR HOTELS

Hotels face growing expectations from guests, brands, and corporate leadership to demonstrate measurable environmental and social responsibility.

The Caring Hotel Partners Program helps hotels:

• Reduce landfill waste
• Simplify responsible waste management
• Support sustainability certifications
• Advance ESG commitments
• Engage staff in meaningful sustainability initiatives
• Strengthen community impact

Participation transforms everyday operational surplus into tangible environmental and social benefits. The program empowers hospitality teams to become active participants in sustainable solutions that benefit both people and the planet.

Soap for Hope Canada is also a recognized vendor with Green Key Global, supporting hotels working toward sustainability certification and responsible operational practices.

HOW THE CARING HOTEL PARTNERS PROGRAM WORKS
HOW THE CARING HOTEL PARTNERS PROGRAM WORKS

Our program is designed to integrate easily into hotel housekeeping operations. Housekeeping teams simply collect gently used soap, hygine products, retired linens, and lost & found items, making participation straightforward and requiring minimal changes to existing workflows.

We Collect

We collect gently used hygiene products, linens, and lost & found from hotels, preventing them from ending up in the landfill.

We Process

In our warehouse, these items are sorted, squeezed, filled, washed, or folded, extending their usable life.

We Deliver

We distribute these repurposed items to Community Facilities, bringing hope and dignity to those in need.

WHAT WE RECOVER FROM HOTELS
WHAT WE RECOVER FROM HOTELS

Our program safely repurposes materials commonly discarded in hotel operations.

Hotel Hygiene Products (hotel-sized and bulk-sized)

• soap
• shampoo
• conditioner
• body wash
• lotion

Hygiene products are sorted, squeezed, filled, washed, and packed to be distributed to vulnerable people.

Hotel Linens

• towels
• sheets
• pillows

• blankets
• other discarded linens

Linens are sorted and packed to be distributed or repurposed into cleaning materials.

Lost & Found Items

Unclaimed guest items that would otherwise be discarded are sold at our social enterprise, Second Hand Hope, or redistributed to vulnerable people through our network of Community Facilities.
